The 12th IAAS International Congress on Ambulatory Surgery is the first international congress to be held in Asia since its inception in 1995. The Congress will be held from May 8th to May 10th, 2017 at Beijing International Convention Center (BICC). It is organized by International Association for Ambulatory Surgery (IAAS), co-organized by China National Health Development Research Center (NHDRC) affiliated to National Heath and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC), China Ambulatory Surgery Alliance (CASA) and China International Conference Center for Science and Technology (CICCST), and coordinated by China Health Economics Association (CHEA), Chinese College of Surgeons, Chinese Association of Anesthesiologists, Chinese Nursing Association and Beijing Bairay Exhibition Limited Company.
During the congress, the first China Ambulatory Surgery Medical Equipment and Instruments Exhibition （from May 8th to 10th）and “Train the Trainer”courses (May 5th -6th) provided by IAAS experts will be also held . About 1,000 attendees including policy-makers, health managers, clinical professionals, researchers, enterprises and public institutions etc. will be present at this magnificent congress.
This congress aims to help more countries better understand China and its development of ambulatory surgery, to introduce the advanced concept of IAAS into China and even into other low and middle-income countries (LMICs) of its neighbors thereby improving the health accessibility for vulnerable population and further expanding the prestige and global influence of IAAS in the world, especially in developing countries and LMICs. Most importantly, it could help effectively promote the equity, accessibility and efficiency of ambulatory surgery for Asian people and better achieve the goal of global and universal health coverage proposed by WHO.
During this congress, more than 20 sessions will be held with experts form both home and abroad, covering several aspects of ambulatory surgery from education and training, reimbursement, cost effectiveness, pathway management to nursing and anesthesia.
